Trying to catch up!!!!

Oh!!!! Where to start. EG has grown and changed so much in the past several months. It's hard to believe our baby girl will be 2 in four short weeks!!!!! Every age is so much FUN and we love to see EG enjoy and learn so many new things. EG is talking all the time, and can repeat pretty much anything you say, she loves to "read", loves Ray Ray (especially trying to take his ball and telling him NO). We are working hard on "please" & "thank you" which she is starting to get the hang of. EG is sort of small for her age.....something like the 5th percentile for weight and 30th for height.....I think the problem is her taste buds are quite odd for a 2 year old....her food of choice is feta, onions (cooked or raw), yogurt, tomato, SALAD (yes!!!), hummus, oatmeal, blueberries, watermelon, strawberries... (etc...on the fruit), black olives you get the idea. Let's just say that if only I ate like EG I might be in the 5th percentile too.

I'm sad to say that Mother's Day Out ended in May and let's just say I'm sure I miss it a little more than EG does. On the other hand we are having a GREAT summer, if it's not "pool time" with our friends, visiting the zoo, picking blueberries, the park, walking, tree top or getting lunch ... it's usually NAP time at our house. EG is down to 1 nap a day and I try to make it a long one (2-3 hours).....if she wakes up early, she'll usually stay in her bed and play with her babies or "read". I've bragged to my friends that she will sleep until 8:00 a.m......I just leave out the part that we are very unscheduled parents and she isn't in bed until 9:00 p.m. or later (YIKES).

Okay.....I feel sort of caught up, so until next post (which could easily be in 4-6 months)....I'm good. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!

What a FUN Christmas!!! Emmie Grace loved the Christmas tree, she would point to it and say "oohhhhh". We only had to tell her about 100 times not to take the things that looked like toys off the tree. She also loved seeing Christmas lights, listening to Christmas music (especially the ELF soundtrack), talking about Ho Ho (but not seeing him in real life), pointing to the nativity set and saying "mama", reading lots of Christmas books, opening presents, etc. It's hard to believe it's already 2010, was it really 10 years ago that we were stocking up for Y2K, how funny. Time is flying by EG is growing so fast, she has just started jabbering all the time it's adorable. She can say mama, dada, pap pap (pacifier), ray ray (every dog), boo (book), and several other things I can't think of right now. Anyways HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! Hopefully I'll be better about posting on our blog this year.

Happy Thanksgiving

"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him,
and bless his name. For the Lord is good..."

I'm on a blogging roll.....First day of Mother's Day Out

Emmie Grace goes to a MDO program 2 days a week. It's great for her and for me (one day to really clean the house and another day to play). The first day was a little hard with her crying at first, but now she has adjusted well. Still a few tears when I drop her off, but they are quickly gone. She loves both her teachers and smiles really big when I talk to her about them. Also, Dave was such a sweet Daddy and went to drop her off that first day.

EG is walking:)

About a month ago our sweet baby girl started walking and after many falls she is finally getting the hang of it. Who knew just one year would bring about so much change. It's wonderful to experience all the new exciting things with Emmie Grace and crazy at the same time to realize how fast she is growing up. We love her more than she'll ever know.

What I thougt EG's room would always look like

Funny!!!!!! Before I had our sweet baby girl, I was delusional and thought her room would always be clean, with NO PLASTIC toys in it (only wood). Boy was I wrong, now our precious 14 month old has a primary colored puzzle mat and plays with several different plastic toys (and chews on a few of them). Oh...and the nice rug is dirty from our weim, Rainer, rolling all over it.
